In this course, you will learn how to create an embroidery design from a painting using impressionist art as inspiration. The project is based on a painting by the American Impressionist Edward Alfred Cucuel, known for his elegant female figures, expressive garments, and rich color compositions — perfect for embroidery. You will explore three different approaches to stylization: — using AI tools — digitally in Procreate — drawing by hand You will learn: — how to simplify a complex painting while preserving its character — how to transfer a design onto velvet fabric step by step — how to work with shapes instead of details — how to think like an artist rather than copy In the practical part: — you will embroider a stylized fragment on velvet step by step — explore a free approach to satin stitch — optionally create a raised decorative frame — finish your work by transforming it into a brooch The course includes a PDF file with all stylization results and a ready-to-use embroidery template. This course is not about copying — it is about interpretation, expression, and developing your own artistic voice. You can use the provided design or create your own based on this or any other painting. Course description available in ENG / LV / RU
